Hugh Jackman has sent a heartfelt message of support to a 10-year-old girl who pleaded for help after getting death threats from school bullies.
The Hollywood superstar Hugh Jackman told Cassidy Warner she is ‘strong, funny and beautiful inside and out’ in response to a now-viral video she posted detailing her harrowing ordeal in school.
‘Hi Cassidy… I’m Hugh. I want you to know you’re loved, special & smart,’ the father-of-two, 49, wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

He wrote: ‘You’re strong, funny & beautiful both inside and out. BULLYING IS NOT OK.
Please never stop asking for help. You will find it from people and places you never thought possible. I’m your friend’
The video first appeared on Cassidy’s Facebook page last month, when the fourth-grader, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, held up signs describing her experience at her elementary school.
Cassidy says she’s been bullied since first grade in the heartwrenching selfie video.
‘One day during recess, a group of kids grabbed my purse off a teacher, and spit on it and me,’ one sign read.
She goes on to say she’s been spat on, hit and had her hair pulled. She says whenever she sits at a lunch table other kids leave.
‘The group of kids always come up to me during recess, trying to fight me. They hit me, kick me, pull my hair, push me, step on me, spit on me,’ she said.
‘Kids don’t even want to go near me. Whenever I sit at a lunch table, the kids get up. They threaten to kill me and they tell me to kill myself.
‘There’s four of them and only one of me. I feel so alone, I feel like I have no-one, it hurts.’
Cassidy’s mother reposted the video after her Facebook account was shut down this month.
Her father tells the Scranton Times-Tribune that John Adams Elementary School has changed her lunch period and recess in response.
He added that he first saw the video on Facebook, telling ABC News: ‘It just devastated me.
‘I don’t know how to explain how it made me feel… even talking about it I get choked up.’
Cassidy’s appeal no doubt struck a chord with Hugh Jackman, who has two adopted children – Ava, 12, and Oscar, 17 – with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
He gushed over Deborra-Lee on Wednesday as he took to Instagram to share a celebratory post on their 22nd wedding anniversary.
The actor shared a beach-side selfie of him and Deborra, 62, on the special day, as he declared he loved her a ‘gazillion times around the world.’

Hugh and Deborra were inundated with congratulatory messages from the star’s 17m followers, with the snap showing the couple have barely aged a day since tying the knot in 1996.
In the caption, Hugh Jackman declared his love for Deborra has only gotten stronger over the years, admitting it was love at first sight when they first met on-set of the ABC drama Correlli in 1995.
He wrote: ‘I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives.
‘Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later… it only gets deeper. You and the kids are the greatest gift I will ever receive. I love you a gazillion times around the world.’
Since marrying 22 years ago, the couple went onto adopt two children, son Oscar and daughter Ava.
